generally, you find that when the words in a song title cannot be found in its lyrics, the title holds the deepest part of the meaning...
"Unchained Melody"
oh, my love, my darling, i've hungered for your touch a long, lonely time. & time goes by so slowly, & time can do so much, are you still mine?
i need your love, i need your love. God speed your love to me!
lonely rivers flow to the sea, to the sea, to the open arms of the sea. lonely rivers sigh, "wait for me, wait for me." i'll be coming home, wait for me!
think of the word "melody". i've heard it defined as a linear succession of musical tones which is perceived as a single entity. a single entity... the two become one, you could say.
think of the word "unchained". unhinged, unbound, released from shackles. i've read one definition - set free... there is hope for this prisoner.
think of "'wait for me'", "i'll be coming home". speaks of a return.
Unchained Melody - the hope of lovers reuniting.
Tears. <3 This is beautifully defined.
